WHAT ARE SLINGSHOTS?

The Polaris Slingshot is an open-cockpit vehicle with a low center of gravity and one rear wheel. It was built to turn every open road driving experience into a great adventure.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RENT A SLINGSHOT?

Slingshot rentals are based on the length of the rental. Our packages range from two hours all the way to one week. Please visit our homepage for pricing.

WHAT ARE THE RENTER REQUIREMENTS?

The point person or driver must be at least 25 years old. Since the vehicle is rented out with a full tank of premium fuel, you must ensure that the vehicle is returned with a full tank of premium gas.
For Drivers

Your designated driver must have a valid Driver’s License and view/acknowledge the mandatory safety video.
For Passengers
-
It is recommended that all passengers are able to rest their feet comfortably on the floor.

DO YOU HAVE A SECURITY DEPOSIT POLICY?

We require a 0-$500 security deposit paid using all major credit cards.

ARE VEHICLE DELIVERIES AN OPTION?

Vehicle deliveries are based upon availability. Price will be determined by distance at $1.50 per mile. Please call us to discuss options.

WHERE CAN I GO USING THE SLINGSHOT?

You are free to explore 200 miles in any direction. Exception to this mileage will be on a case-by-case basis and communicated prior to departure. However, you cannot drive on beaches or off-road surfaces. Breaking this rule will result in the forfeit of your security deposit.

DOES THE RENTAL SLINGSHOT HAVE INSURANCE?

Our rental Slingshots have liability, comprehensive, and collision insurance coverage. However, the renter will be responsible for up to $750 in damages if they wreck or impair the unit in any way.​

DO YOU NEED A MOTORCYCLE LICENSE TO DRIVE A SLINGSHOT?

Texas State Law does not require a motorcycle endorsement. At Slingshot Rental of San Antonio all you need for a Polaris Slingshot rental is a Valid Driver's License

IS A SLINGSHOT CAR OR MOTORCYCLE?

The Slingshot is federally classified as a three wheeled motorcycle. Most states classify it as an Autocycle, which means that only a valid driver's license is needed to drive the vehicle.
ARE HELMETS REQUIRED WHEN DRIVING A SLINGSHOT?
No, helmets are not required when driving a Polaris Slingshot in Texas. The Slingshot is classified as an autocycle, and since it has seatbelts and a roll cage, helmet use is optional. However, while not legally required, we strongly recommend wearing a helmet for added safety and protection. Additionally, bring sunglasses and wear comfortable clothing for the open-air driving experience.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR OR BRING FOR MY RENTAL?
We recommend wearing comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a light jacket if temperatures may drop. You may also want to bring a phone mount, camera, or GoPro to capture your adventure. Small bags can be stored in the vehicle's storage compartments.

CAN I DRIVE THE SLINGSHOT IN THE RAIN?
While the Slingshot can handle light rain, we recommend checking the weather before your rental. The open-cockpit design means you'll be exposed to the elements. If severe weather is forecasted, please contact us to discuss rescheduling options. We also offer our Sensible Weather Guarantee for added protection.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I RETURN THE SLINGSHOT LATE?
We understand that plans can change. If you're running late, please call us immediately at (210) 935-0520. Late returns may incur additional hourly charges based on our standard rental rates. Communication is key—we're here to help make your experience smooth!
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN RIDE IN A SLINGSHOT?
Each Polaris Slingshot seats up to 2 people—one driver and one passenger. Both seats are equipped with seatbelts and have comfortable seating with adjustable positions. Passengers must be able to comfortably reach the floor with their feet.

CAN I TAKE THE SLINGSHOT ON THE HIGHWAY?
Absolutely! The Polaris Slingshot is street-legal and highway-capable. It performs excellently on highways and open roads, making it perfect for cruising through San Antonio and exploring the Texas Hill Country. Just remember to follow all traffic laws and speed limits.

WHAT IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT OR THE SLINGSHOT BREAKS DOWN?
Safety is our priority. If you're involved in an accident, first ensure everyone is safe and call 911 if needed. Then contact us immediately at (210) 935-0520. Our rental Slingshots have comprehensive insurance coverage. If you experience a mechanical breakdown, call us right away and we'll provide roadside assistance.

CAN I CANCEL OR MODIFY MY RESERVATION?
